1 DAY IN THE WOODS WITH SAM

Hi there!
How is your week going so far? To all the new readers my name is Zombie Sam, I play in my own band, produce music and help fans or whoever is around by sharing my life experience.

I want to share something very important to me today.. something basic in my everydaylife. I already explained in my previous blogs that I’m a spiritual person so.. if you wanna check my previous blogs, you can find them here.

So let’s start.. as you can notice today’s title is “One day in the woods with Sam” so it’s very easy to understand what is very basic to me. Walking in the woods precicely! I will explain you why it’s so important to me and humans in general walking in the woods!

Personally..I meditate and it’s also one of those chances for me to get out of the studio and isolate myself into a different environment by connecting with the nature/universe and listening to the earth speaking to me. there’s something more though.. I will tell you what happens to you if you walk in the woods often… It’s proven by science that walking in the woods has some real good benefits.

 

This is what happens If you walk 1 to 2 hours 2 or 3 days a week:

1) IT MAY HELP PREVENTING CANCER(Spending time in a forest makes NK cells work stronger)

2) IT REDUCES STRESS

3) IT HELPS WITH DEPRESSION

4) IT CAN MAKE YOUR BRAIN WORK BETTER

5) IT CAN HELP LOWER BLOOD PREASSURE

6) IT REDUCES THE SENSE OF LONELINESS

I could explain in detail why of each point but what I really want from you is: to readd this blog, walk in the woods 2 or 3 times per week for 1 month and research well about all those benefits I wrote above. open yourself to the universe and try to understand if you see any difference!

I used to go everyday after the studio but recently I’m busier than usual and it really makes the difference on me in a bad way! I’m less focused… more tired than ususal and I really need lots of effort to make easy tasks! I’ll try to go one of the enxt days… but.. you… open yourself to the nature/universe and you’ll see the difference in the long run!

COVERING NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS?

Helloooo,

I know many of you were very curious about the song “Kidnap the Sandy Claws“! I got tons of comments, tweets and messages so I believe many of you were super excited! Before starting the blog let me thank Ryan Howell for the amazing performance and Chris Simmons for helping me out with the bass guitar since I didn’t have much time to do everything!

So here we go…I guess many of you already listened to the track I covered a while ago “WHAT’S THIS” right? I beg your pardon? YOU DID NOT? LOOOOL I’m joking! but for all of the fans that didn’t check that song out yet… you can stream it here and download it here among other free tracks!


Anyhow..When I was 10 years old(I think)or maybe 12… I promised myself I would have covered the songs from Nightmare Before Christmas’ soundtrack, I was so into the movie… so I had decided already I would have covered those tracks in my own style.
I’ve been a big fan of Danny Elfman since I whatched Batman if I remember well.. and I was just a kid! I usually hate covering songs but if I really do it it means I feel like the songs need to put my spin on.. If you can understand what I mean.. I was never a fanboy… I always try to get something and make it custom according to my vision.

Actually I thought it would be fun playing “Kidnap the Sandy Claws” or “This is Halloween” live! To really anjoy the whole magic pure essence of those tracks! Now here I GIVE YOU A BIG PIECE OF NEWS you will get excited with! I don’t know when still but I will try to cover the whole soundtrack from “The Nightmare Before Christmas”!! So what do you think? I’m already excited although I know it will take me lots of work!


I won’t tell you anything else about this matter but trust me… LOTS OF MUSIC IS COMING from Ryan and I! Lots of free tracks and in the end our 2nd album… so stick around, Ryan will probably kick me for telling you one of the many secrets we have!

1 DAY IN THE STUDIO WITH SAM

Hi there,

Welcome to this blog! For all the new fans I’m ZOMBIE SAM a music producer/artist/visionary. I play in my own band Zombie Sam and as session guitarrist for the band Season of Ghosts. I write blogsto share parts of my life with my fans cos all of you for me are a big family.

I know many fans wonder “what does Zombie Sam does in his days?” and that’s what this blog is all about. I usually work everyday in my studio.. when I’m not on tour that’s how I spend my days.

Let’s get more detailed, cos I want you to feel like you are really gonna be with me for one day and sitting next to me keeping me company and having a tuour in my studio/world with this blog!

 

I don’t ususally have a precise allarm in the morning, I wake up around 9am on an average and right before getting in the studio, I usually shake my metabolism jumping rope on an empty stomach. It helps your body waking up faster and pushing your organism/metabolism into burning faster. Then..it’s breakfast time.. after that I make myself a black coffee without sugar of course, just to trigger my ADHD. What’s ADHD?

I wrote ablog about it not long ago so if you want read it here to learn more about the topic.

 

I always try to use my ADHD to serve me for what I need the most in my everyday life. If you find the key to balance yourself… then you will be able to turn the problem into a winning point. I have accessive energy so I ususally use it to compose/ arrange music, but anyhow.. I sit on my chair and before making any music I spend quite a few hours: checking my schedule, checking all the emails (amswering to all of them), looking at my social medias and answering fans’ messages or at least to a good part of the last messages I’ve gotten, posting on FB,TW,IG and answering all possible comments.

Like I always say..artists need to be humans 1st of all and they need top take care of those ones that make you grow and become popular. It happens that you might have busier periods in your life and I don’t say to answer to everyone no matter what.. but if you really want, you can dedicate the right time to your fans even if you are super famous/busy. Fans are your energy and your everything so there’s no excuse!! Just be careful cos whoever brings you upo.. with the same power can drag you down.

 

This job takes quite a few hours of my day and around 3 or 4 pm circa I can finally start working on music. So what do I do.. I check all my notes, I’m a very tidy person and I take notes of all my ideas.

Recently I’m working on some covers I know you are excited about! I want to pull out lots of content for all of you. You do really deserve that! The apart from new covers, I’m actually busy on Zombie Sam’s 3rd album(although the 2nd is not released yet) and the Season Of Ghosts 2nd album as well. I make soundtracks and adverts when a company asks me to but not right now. I’m really focusing on those 2 bands cos It’s the right moment to!

 

Trying to muiltitask all this usually and although it sounds like nothing.. believe me the clock from 3 pm directly hits 1 or 2 am like time lasted af few seconds! time really flies!PLUS consider that every now and then in between I gotta find the time to follow human tasks like: shopping.. food.. cooking.. the gym etc.. Everyday I don’t know how to clone my self do follow my own schedules lol!!

Anyway.. this is how I spend my days on an average when I’m not close to a tour.. cos if there’s a tour coming then the mess multiplies for 100 and we level up to incredible mess!!! LOOOOOOL

 

I hope you enjoyed putting your noses into my private life!! LOL I’m joking but I do really hope you appreciated the fact I shared something about my private life.

BE EXCITED for the music that’s coming!! BELIEVE ME YOU WILL LOVE IT!!!

THE REAL POWER INSIDE YOU

Hi there,
I feel so sad sometimes reading fans’ emails.. when they talk about getting bullied having a hard time at school or at work! It makes ma very nervous seeing all that. Let me tell you something…It’s about time I voice my opinion about this and I hope it will be helpfull for many of you. I just want you to get some good/positive energy.

 

Whoever is bullying you, usually ain’t the real strong person! In fact it’s always the other way around. Not everyone that looks though is really that though inside.

 

Behind the bully’s mask there’s always something hidden..many times it’s: INFERIORITY COMPLEX, LACK OF EDUCATION, LACK OF MANNERS, FEAR TO SHOW THEMSELVES FOR WHAT THEY REALLY ARE, FEAR TO BE CHALLENGED BY OTHERS and the most important of all.. NO SELF ESTEEM!

 

Try to read between the lines and you will see.. all those are bad points!So why do you think they are stronger? THEY ARE NOT! For weak people the best way of defense is TO ATTACK 1st! This way many times they trick you into believing they are the strong ones. It’s 100% the other way aroud. Remember.. who shouts louder ain’t the best…who hits harder ain’t the best either and just cos you get abused doesn’t mean you are the weak one!!

 

It’s the opposite and you should laugh about it… whatever the situation is! laugh about them in their face cos they DON’T KNOW ANY BETTER.. so poor them! YOU DO know something better so FIGHT BACK not with violence… use your brain and your words cos thatre’s nothing better than that! In the end they are the loosers so make sure to say this.. they are not superior to you.. they might just be bigger or whatever.. they are inferior to humans in general if they can’t respect others!!! They are THE REAL WEAK PEAPLE with 0 inner power!

 

I’d like top speak to each one of you that get through difficult times so if you just need an advice you can email me. I might be late answering but I always get the time to answer fans!

TURNING DREAMS INTO REALITY

How are you fellas?

I’m pretty busy recently, actually more busy than usual. I promised you would get more stuff from me and Ryan before we release the new album and now I ended up multitasking on more things than I can handle.

Today I want to speak about life changes! Although we all come from different circumstances/lives..I believe when you wanna change something in your life..we all end up doing the same thing.. following the only real way to change things!

I’m always very square and strict in everything I do, I always follow the best rule I’ve been taught:”DO IT WELL OR DON’T DO IT AT ALL” so everytime I want to change something in my life.. I make sure to get the right time to think before acting.

I don’t know what your plans are but I certainly give you a few tips, I never speak randomly and everything I say/write is based on my life’s experience. So let’s start.. shall we?

To change/improve your life 1st of all it usually takes courage, perseverance and a big fat strong will!
You need to work on yourself first and this actually should be your main target! Improving yourself it’s a 24/7 job and it’s a FOREVER and EVER job!!!

Here you go some tips in order to achive a few goals and level up in your life:

1- Stop caring about what people usually say, filter people’s words cos not everyone has something very good or wise to say about you. We are way too many milions of people on this earth and many of them really just waste your time. So really care about those ones that have to teach you something or give you something that can be really useful to your personal growth.

2- You need to set up your life with small targets that you can achieve with a bit of effort. Not too difficult in the beginning and then pretty big steps when you are really good managing your life/taks very well. So in the beginning start with weekly tasks/targets. Then extend to monthly targets.

3- Don’t get stressed if you fail in the beginning or you do not achieve all your goals.. obviously try hard but if you can’t, just try harder in the next target. The real point is to push yourself in general and you will see that you will achieve something for sure believe me. Whatever you did is for sure better than doing nothing so calm down and push your self more next time.
4- Always try to do something more than you just planned. Going out of your comfort zone is never easy but try to overdeliver each time you have to do something. The more the better. Whatever you do it’s only for yourself so you are gonna enjoy in the end for sure!

5- Take notes on paper for your daily tasks

6- Note down all your big targets on a calendar. Set up deadlines!

Sounds easy right? If you believe I don’t know your life situation.. I probably don’t but there’s no excuse for not evolving your life unless it’s a life threat period, so for all the other cases I APPLY what I wrote above. IF YOU WANNA DO SOMETHING DO IT WELL OR DON’T DO IT AT ALL!

You will meet lots of people in your life.. many will stay around you.. many you will call them friends and many others will leave.. always listen rather than talk too much cos we gotta learn from each other.
Many times people will try to drag you down but that’s part of life.. other times people will help you but the whole point is that you gotta take care of yourself each moment of this life… nobody will care about you more than your own self.. so love yourself and try to stay focused. you just have this life so live it at its best.

CONNECTING YOUR SPIRIT TO YOUR BODY

What’s up folks?!
I want to reveal something about the last period of my life/recent events…
I’ve always been a spiritual person…I always studied many things for so many years and they are very precious for me in my everyday life.

I always believed that, connecting your mind to your body..whatever thing you
visualize..you will be able to achieve it.

I always meditate and make sure to spend the right time in the wild nature trying to connect/speak with the pure environment. Same goes when it’s time to write music.

If you read my previous blog “PUSHING MUSIC BEYOND LIMITS” you already know then how these blogs
can be connected…if you didn’t read, make sure to check it out!

I believe everything has to come within your inner self and your brain…
I’m in a pretty weird period of my life..I always had problems with ADHD..and until
recently.. meditating always helped me a lot to reach my balance.This time though..
it was not enough! I started having incredible/excessive energy inside me and I had trouble understanding how to relieve that.

I got into fitness/Body Building..(of course) I always had an active life..always took care
of my body, nutrition and I always made sure to make some kind of activity/sport…just..
this time didn’t seem enough to me..my energy was not getting relieved.

I subscribed to the gym and started exercising…first 3 times a week…then 4 times a
week..until I reached the level I’m at. Now I exercise on an average of 5 to 6 days a week.
I learned lots of stuff about exercise.. nutrition (also thanks to my buddies Ryan Howell
and Chris Simmons.) and for sure I learned to know my self from a different point of view
and even more.. I know my body or I’m on the right path to.

I had people wondering whether I get steroids or not…FOR SURE I DON’T! But I understand
normal/natural people don’t usually exercise 5 to 6 days a week with sessions of 1 to 1h
and 30 mins. It can sound very suspicious to many meatheads… BUT that’s the point!!

I’m 100% natural and most of my energy comes from ADHD but there’s something else… you
can’t exercise that much if you do not connect your mind/spirit/soul to your body.
It’s the same way I do in music! I just care about my vision and I keep it there in my
mind. I just don’t care about whoever surrounds me in this case…Even if I have 200 fellas
around me.. I visualize myself ALONE.

My muscles…my mind..lots of sweat/effort and 1.30 h of time to spend before getting the
hell out of the gym. I concentrate.. I connect my mind to the muscles I’m about to
exercise…I want to hear my body talking to me.. and for example when you are
on the bench doing bench press..you WANT to feel your chest screaming/burning.. it has to be
a connection..otherwise you might end up getting less results but worst of all.. making a
dead movement.

I don’t plan on being a pro athlete.. but if you gotta do something then.. do it well or
give up. Wars (as stupid as they could be) were never won using the word “kinda”..they were
either won or lost! Same should go for everything you do in your life..you can do
something.. or you can’t do something… both are fine, but when you do something “kinda”..
believe me it never leads you very far. This is the way I see life… a bit strict maybe..
Always try to connect your mind/spirit to your body.. you’ll see the difference as time
goes by…

This was another piece of my mind… some of the chapters of that book I call life.. my
life! I hope someone will find this blog useful..
